Student parents in California face unique challenges as they balance academics, work, and family responsibilities. Yet, their identities, experiences, and needs are often overlooked due to gaps in data collection practices. The California Student Parents Almanac leverages existing federal data to shed light onto who student parents are—their demographics, academic experiences, financial situations, and the barriers they face in accessing quality education and completing their credentials. The report presents a data-driven overview, supported by facts and figures, to illustrate the intersectional challenges that impact their educational journeys. The report is organized as follows:
